Our Culture

The culture of the Wilberforce School nurtures a love of learning, a love of God, and a comittment to godly habits that will be the basis for a lifetime of academic and spiritual vitality.  Here are some of the tangible ways we do this:

v      Teachers – Attracting and training teachers who are gifted, called, and committed to the Wilberforce mission.

v      Family Recognizing parents as a child’s first and best teachers, nurturing a vital school community without overburdening parents with collateral obligations.

v      Calendar Organizing the school year with extended breaks to allow time together as a family.

v      Statement of Faith Seeking to articulate and live by a shared Christian conviction.

v      Uniforms Instilling an attitude of attentiveness and respect towards our studies and forging a distinctive school identity.

v      Chapel Teaching devotion through songs, hymns, testimonies, and reading and teaching from Scripture.

v      Discipline Cultivating godly character; building habits of kindness, attentiveness, diligence, obedience, and respect.

As the psalmist wrote:

“Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end.

Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”

 Psalm 119:33-37
