The Wolverine Way...
Athletics play an integral part in each student's overall development. We believe our athletic program creates balance in the lives of our students and helps to produce physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy young adults. Our athletes learn the rules and fundamental skills of their sport, fundamentals of fitness, and the self-control of being gracious in both victory and defeat. In light of our mission, participation in athletics also offers an opportunity to glorify God through competition, relationships, and allows us to show off the Glory of God to all those we come in contact with. We are able to put Christ on display in all of our interactions with other schools, coaches, officials, and fans. Our greatest hope is that our athletes and coaches would continually point others to Christ.
- Develop camaraderie and the joy of being part of a team
- Develop optimum physical fitness through effective training
- Develop mental discipline
- Enhance performance in the classroom
- Practice good sportsmanship
- Glorify God in all we do
Our Athletics program at a glance....
We are members of the NJSIAA, competing in the Non-Public B Tournaments for Cross Country and Track. We are also part of the Mercer County Tournament, and compete in Cross Country, Swim, and Track Tournaments. Our athletic teams meet four days each week, with occasional Saturday competitions.
Wilberforce athletics is in step with our holistic approach to educating our students. We seek to emulate the character of Christ in both practice and competition, running the race well, and finishing strong. We desire to prepare students for the path, not prepare the path for the student. Our Christian worldview is the foundation of these character building principles. Our coaches seek to equip our students to embody these principles in victory and defeat. Learn more about our coaching staff below.
