International Student Program

We accept students on a rolling basis, and continue to admit students until our classes are full. That being said, we recommend applying by the end of May in order to ensure enough time to complete the student visa process.

Yes, international students are required to take the Upper School entrance exam, which includes math, writing, and ESL competency. The exam may be taken remotely. We also ask to see a TOEFL score if you have already taken it. However, a TOEFL score is not mandatory to apply. Please contact the Admissions Director for more information.

We are happy to schedule an in-person interview and a campus tour, or to offer an online interview at a convenient time. Students will be asked questions regarding their interest in studying abroad, interest in Wilberforce school, and academic and extracurricular strengths. Students and parents will also have an opportunity to ask their own questions during the interview.

Yes, every international student is paired with an ESL teacher for classroom and conversational help. Sessions focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and are individually tailored to each student’s needs. Students meet with their ESL teachers for between three to five hours per week.

Tuition is up to $35,000 per year for international students who require ESL support. Please contact our Admissions Office for more details.

In order to ensure a true immersion experience, we accept only 1-2 international students per grade.

The Wilberforce School is committed to the health and safety of our community. We have successfully returned to campus this fall, with many new safety procedures in place. We are also serving families who opt to learn from home with a blended learning approach. Please find a detailed description of our plan here.

Yes, when we offer an international student admission, we provide the student with an I-20 to present to his or her embassy to receive an F-1 visa. The length of this process varies widely by country, so we encourage our international students to apply early when possible.

Our college guidance team understands and acknowledges that the American college application system is complex and challenging to navigate for international students and families. Therefore, we offer a dedicated guidance counselor for international students. This guidance counselor dedicates extra time to help guide students through completing and submitting college applications.
