Dual enrollment is how our students can earn college credits
The Wilberforce School has partnered with Cairn University and Arizona Christian University to offer dual enrollment credits for Wilberforce courses. By enrolling in this program, Upper School students may choose to receive college credits for some of the courses they complete at Wilberforce. These are courses that our students are already taking, so no additional academic work is required to obtain college credits.
After graduating from Wilberforce and enrolling in college, Wilberforce alumni may request that their college accept the dual enrollment credits for (1) placement in advanced courses, (2) transfer credits that count toward their degrees, or (3) some combination of both. Because every college has its own policies that can vary by academic department (and from year to year), there is no guarantee that dual enrollment credits will be accepted by any particular college. Some Wilberforce alumni have saved thousands of dollars in college tuition by successfully applying dual enrollment credits to their undergraduate degrees, while others have received no credits at all. It is always best to check directly with colleges regarding their dual enrollment credit policies.

| How does dual enrollment work at Wilberforce? |

Dual enrollment provides Upper School students with an opportunity to earn college credit simply by taking their normal classes at Wilberforce. Wilberforce students do not need to complete additional academic work or attend a local college to earn these credits. The only requirement is that students are enrolled in the program by the deadline and that payment is provided to either Cairn University or Arizona Christian University. Whether the college credits are ultimately accepted depends on the policies of the college the student attends. |

| How do you register for the dual enrollment program? |

Students may only register for courses they are taking during the current academic year. Registration and payment must be completed by November 12, 2026. Please complete the following steps:

| How much does dual enrollment cost? |
| Dual enrollment credits cost $85 each through Cairn University and $70 each through Arizona Christian University. |
| Will college credits earned at The Wilberforce School be accepted at my child's college? |

Each college has its own rules for accepting dual enrollment credits, so we strongly recommend reaching out to the college directly for additional information before enrolling. |
| Can I register my child for dual enrollment credits retroactively? |
| No. Registration and payment must be completed by the deadline stated above for each academic year. Retroactive enrollment is not possible (i.e., it is not possible to receive college credits for Wilberforce School courses taken in a previous academic year). |
| Is additional work required to earn college credits? |
| No additional academic work will be required from Wilberforce students. |
| How do I receive certification for my child's college credits? |
| College credits are earned through Cairn University and/or Arizona Christian University. University transcripts will provide documentation of your child’s college credits. You will need to contact the university at the end of the academic year to request a transcript. Cairn University transcripts may be ordered here beginning in July after the conclusion of each academic year. Be sure to enter "Cairn" in the "Select School" window. |
