Welcoming Chris Munn as
Middle and Upper School Head
We are delighted to announce that Chris Munn has been appointed as the Middle and Upper School Head at The Wilberforce School. Chris will officially begin his work in the summer of 2026.
For more than two decades, Chris has dedicated his life to working with students. He and his wife, Monica, began their careers in college ministry at Michigan State University. From 2007 to 2020, they lived and served in Shanghai, China, where Chris taught, led as department head, and later became principal at Yew Wah International School. In 2015, he became the founding principal of a new Yew Wah campus, beginning with 65 students and growing it to more than 700 by 2020.
After returning to the United States in 2020, Chris joined The Covenant School, a classical Christian school in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he currently serves as Principal. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University and a Master’s in Education from Michigan State University.
Chris brings a wide breadth of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator. He has built teams, developed programs and policies, managed major projects, cultivated leaders, directed professional development, planned curriculum, and engaged deeply with students, faculty, and parents.
Most importantly, Chris and Monica share a deep and mature faith in Jesus Christ. Their calling as educators is rooted in a desire to disciple and form children in Christ. They have six children, with the oldest in college and the youngest in grammar school.
We are deeply grateful for the many prayers that have joined ours throughout this thoughtful and thorough search process. We thank God for His abundant provision in bringing Chris to Wilberforce and look forward with joy to welcoming him and his family into our community this summer.
